While I was out to dinner after a long day at the conference, my dad called me. Zaino doesn’t usually call me unless he really needs something.
So I rushed out of the restaurant to answer his phone call.
He decided to choose today of all days to start working on my taxes. Of course he had questions and I was wondering why he started to work on my taxes while I am not there. Although I am happy he isn’t waiting to the last minute like other things.
One reason I am happy he called was because we could talk about Bennigans!
He said, “Well maybe because you didn’t go yesterday or today to Bennigans it will be the straw that broke the camel’s back and they will close!”
Ohhhh Zaino…..

I love it! My mom called me the other day at 11:30 in the morning. I answered (usually my phone isn’t on, but I had forgotten to turn it off) it, thinking something must be terribly wrong for her to call me while I was teaching. I answered right away with, “Mom, is everything ok?” She wanted to know if she should drop the cat carrier off at my house or at school. 🙂 I just had to laugh…typical Mom.
Those little things like phone calls and such are the things I cherish about my parents now that they are gone. I appreciate this slice a lot.
